NEW DELHI: A 32-year-old laborer lost his life in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri after being stabbed by a group of men near his residence, as confirmed by the police on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Monday night when Vinod, also known as Topi, was seated at Chat Puja Park in close proximity to his home. At that time, a group of men approached him, subjected him to physical assault, and inflicted knife wounds, according to the police.
Following the attack, the assailants swiftly made their escape, leaving Vinod severely injured. He was urgently transported to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, but medical efforts were in vain, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police have taken action by registering a case under section 302 (pertaining to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have established investigative teams to pursue the apprehension of the individuals responsible.
Vinod is survived by his wife and two children, further compounding the tragedy of this incident.
