Delhi govt rolls back WFH measures as geopolitical tensions 'practically normalized'

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday ordered rollback of a work from home (WFH) measure and staggered timings she had earlier announced for government offices.

"Now that the geopolitical situation has practically normalized. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved withdrawal of Work from Home on Wednesdays and Saturday," Delhi CMO said.

Earlier in May, Delhi government had announced a work from home policy for two days for government offices, days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's austerity push to conserve energy keeping in mind the war in Iran.

As per the revised schedule, the timings for GNCTD offices will now be from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, back to the pre-crisis timings.

Meanwhile, the timings for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will remain the same, functioning from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Earlier in May, the government had also announced a one-year freeze on all official foreign visits for ministers and officers and a six-month ban on the purchase of new petrol, diesel, CNG, or hybrid vehicles for the Delhi government.

CM Gupta had also previously urged citizens to observe a weekly "No Vehicle Day" and encouraged institutions to maximise online

hearings and lectures to reduce transport needs.
