Delhi govt appoints nodal officers for different hospitals

NEW DELHI: Delhi government on Friday designated 15 officers including IAS officers as nodal officers of different government hospitals and asked to start monitoring the work of the possible third Covid wave preparations including beds escalation, sourcing of requisite human resources, oxygen supply, procurement and storage of sufficient drugs and other requirements.

IAS officer Arava Gopi Krishna has been designated nodal officer for Lok Nayak Hospital, Vikram Malik for GTB Hospital, Sonal Swaroop for DDU Hospital, Awanish Kumar for Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, Himanshu Gupta for Ambedkar Hospital, R Meneka for Sanjay Gandhi Hospital besides other officers.

An order issued by the health department on Friday stated that the officers will be overall in-charge of Covid-19 hospitals assigned to them and will exercise general superintendence, directions and control over the functioning of the hospital and the medical director of the hospital would obtain concurrence of all decision relating to Covid management from the respective nodal officers during Covid emergencies. They have been asked to ensure that a robust, efficient and effective public grievance system is established in their respective hospitals. The phone number of nodal officers will be displayed at prominent places in the hospitals.

The municipal corporations have been asked to appoint nodal officers for their hospitals.
