NEW DELHI: A fire broke out at a plastics factory in the Narela Industrial Area on Monday, officials said, adding a PCR call regarding the incident was received at 8.39 pm.
A police team reached the spot and found that the property belongs to one Mukesh Gupta. He had rented out the first and second floors to one Vivek, a resident of Anand Parvat. At the factory, he made PVC soles.
After the fire department got a call, 14 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. "Initially, there were some cracking sounds with smoke emanating from the fire. It an itching effect on the eyes. The owner stated that all the 10 workers in his factory had come out safely. Now, the fire is under control," an officer said adding that so far no casualty has been reported. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, in another case, a fire broke out at temporary shelters of the labourers working near the new Parliament House . No one was injured and the reason for the fire was a short circuit.
