Delhi-Bihar pvt bus with 60 passengers hijacked twice on Yamuna Expressway

AGRA: About sixty passengers on board a Delhi-Bihar bound bus had a harrowing time as a financial dispute between the seller and the buyer of the vehicle led to the ‘hijacking’ of the bus twice over 200 kilometers on Yamuna Expressway from Noida to Agra on Thursday.

The bus was initially stopped around 2:30 am by the Delhi based seller, Ram Suresh’s henchmen and they drove away with the vehicle towards Agra after forcibly taking its possession.

However the buyer, Monu Kumar, and his men followed the bus in a car and stopped it near Khandauli toll plaza and repossessed the vehicle after thrashing the driver and the conductor, only to be stopped by the police, about 30 Kms away at Tundla, Firozabad.

All through this drama, which lasted almost five hours the passengers were literally kept hostage.

They were shifted to another bus around 9:30 am for their final destination.

All the four accused — Monu Kumar, Arjun Yadav, Vikram Sahni and Sundaram Singh — were arrested by the police, after registering an FIR against them under section 392 (robbery) of IPC, said Station house officer of Khandauli police station Avdhesh Gautam.

According to police, a Delhi based resident from Julia colony in Alipur, Ram Suresh had sold his bus to Monu, who owns Shivprakash travels in Delhi and hails from Bihar, for Rs 15 lakh. Monu had paid an advance of Rs 3 lakh and promised to pay the remaining amount by the first week of December. When Monu did not pay the amount, Suresh’s workers stopped the bus at Jewar toll plaza in Noida when it was heading to Bihar and after verbal argument, took over the bus.

Monu and his accomplices chased the bus for over two hours before stopping and repossessing it.
