Dele Alli told told to make Tottenham transfer decision amid links to Paris Saint-Germain

Former Liverpool and England star John Barnes has advised Dele Alli to leave Tottenham for a club where he would be better utilised, naming Paris Saint-Germain as an ideal destination.

The England midfielder has struggled for opportunities in Jose Mourinho's side so far this season and has been linked with an exit, with PSG among tose touted for his services.

While Spurs are a 'fantastic' club for Alli, he has been told to assess his options and move to a club where he will fit the manager's style of play.

Tottenham's Europa League draw reaction and review

"Dele Alli is a fantastic player, I have always said when it comes to footballers, forget about where you want to play, look at the type of football that suits you," he told BonusBetCodes.

"Jose is not the most attack-minded manager, so maybe it would be best for him to go to another club that plays a different style and would benefit him.

"Tottenham is a fantastic place for Dele to be at, and the set up they have at the club is amazing. However, if he thinks about the way he plays he could possibly maximize his potential somewhere else.

"He’s not a Jose Mourinho-type player and might not appeal to the football that the manager wants to play. For me, he should maybe assess his options and where best suits him and his style.

"I’ve seen he’s linked with PSG, that would make sense as they are an attack-minded team which could allow him to really express himself on the pitch again.

"Thomas Tuchel is also a manager that loves to set his teams up on the front foot. Maybe Dele could play then play in a more favoured position just behind the striker. He’d also work well at Arsenal and Chelsea, but I don’t think Tottenham would let that happen!"
