Dele Alli told to leave Tottenham as Jose Mourinho makes Frank Lampard offer

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Wednesday, January 27.

Alli told to leave

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has told Dele Alli he 'needs to go' this month amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Mauricio Pochettino's PSG are lurking amid Alli's lack of game time in North London and reports emerged on Tuesday claiming the French club are confident of getting a deal done before the end of the window.

With that in mind, Bent has told Alli to jump at the chance to leave Spurs, telling TalkSPORT: “When Mourinho didn’t fancy him in the Premier League, they were the type of games where Alli was getting game time,” said Bent.

“But now he needs to go, ‘enough is enough, let me get myself out’.

“Go to PSG if that’s where he’s going, play well under Pochettino and hopefully that can turn into a permanent move.”

Winks knows what he must do

Harry Winks has spoken about what he needs to do to impress Jose Mourinho after scoring in the win over Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup.

“It was a tough game. They [Wycombe] are a good side and they made it difficult for us, going right to the end, but thankfully it didn’t go to extra time," he said, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live.

“You never know what is going to happen, we had a lot of opportunities, but we didn’t take them.

“The belief is there though and we kept going to the final whistle, and luckily that paid off for us.

“It is something I have been working on in training, and I am happy to score whenever I get the chance.

“I have said all season, it is difficult not to get that regular game time to build up that momentum.

“But when I get the opportunity, I have to take the chance and that’s down to me. When I get the opportunity I have to take it, I have to perform well and just keep fighting and playing well.”

Mourinho offers hand to Lampard

Spurs boss Mourinho has offered his hand to former midfielder Frank Lampard, who was sacked by Chelsea on Monday.

Speaking after the Wycombe win, Mourinho said: "I don't think Frank wants to speak to me or with anyone apart from his close circle of family and friends.

"But I am always sad when a colleague loses his job and Frank is not just a colleague he is an important person in my career so I feel sorry he did.

"But it is the brutality of football, especially modern football so when you become a manager you know that sooner or later it is going to happen to you."
