Dele Alli stars in Tottenham victory as Daniel Levy decides on first summer transfer deal

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Thursday, February 25.

Alli shines in Wolfsberger rout

Spurs cruised into the last-16 of the UEFA Europa League last night, comfortably beating Wolfsberger 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, ensuring they won the two-legged affair 8-1 on aggregate.

Two goals from Carlos Vinicius, a spectacular effort from Dele Alli and a composed finish from Gareth Bale sealed a comfortable evening's work for Jose Mourinho's side.

In total, following Sunday's 2-1 reverse to West Ham United, Mourinho made nine changes, with only Eric Dier and Erik Lamela surviving the chop. Of the nine players that did come into the team, it was Dele that stood head and shoulders above the rest.

Grealish sends message to Alli after wonder goal

Although no Tottenham supporters were present inside the stadium yesterday evening to enjoy Dele Alli's spectacular goal with him, no shortage of those watching at home soon flooded social media with comments and exasperated reactions.

It was a strike capable of bringing anyone to their feet, most probably even opposing supporters had there been any inside the stadium.

Dele's heroics even caught the attention of England team-mate and Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish, who soon took to Instagram to wax lyrical about the attacking-midfielder's strike.

Grealish wrote: "Naaaaaah @dele," suggesting that he could not believe what the former MK Dons man had just done.

Spurs ready to offload Gazzaniga

Tottenham are ready to offload goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga on a permanent basis this summer, a report by Football Insider claims.

The Argentine sealed a loan switch to Spanish side Elche in January in the hope of gaining more first-team football. However, his time with the La Liga club has so far not gone according to plan as he still awaiting his debut.

Despite that, Spurs are looking to offload him in this summer, with them set to tell him that he is deemed surplus to requirements.

Since joining Tottenham in 2017 from fellow Premier League club Southampton, the shot-stopper has only made 37 appearances for the club.
