Dele Alli says 'we’re all okay now' after Tottenham star was robbed at knifepoint in home burglary

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has thanked fans for their support after he was the victim of a burglary at his home.

The 24-year-old was reportedly held at knifepoint and punched in the face after two robbers broke into his house in north London but escaped with only minor facial injuries.

The pair are said to have stolen jewellery and watches during the incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“Thank you for all the messages,” the England international wrote on Twitter. “Horrible experience but we’re all okay now. Appreciate the support.”

CCTV footage of the incident has been handed to police, who have opened an investigation.

A Metropolitan Police statement read: "Police were called at approximately 00:35 BST on Wednesday 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address.

"Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

"Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.

"There have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
