Dele Alli, Lingard and Calvert-Lewin - 5 players at 5/1 or less to sign for Newcastle

The bookies fancy Newcastle to make a raft of signings in the January transfer window, regardless of which manager is in charge by that point.

Newcastle United are currently priced at 6/4 by SkyBet to sign more players than any other Premier League team in the January transfer window, and the rumour list is growing ever longer.

The now familiar names of James Tarkowski and Ross Barkley are among the favourites according to the bookies, but there are also a few more ambitious shouts priced at 5/1 or less:

James Tarkowski 5/4

His name has featured heavily as Newcastle hunt for a new centre-back. The 28-year-old is currently at Burnley, who, as depressing as it is, now sit three points ahead of Newcastle United in the Premier League. Unfortunately that means it isn’t exactly an irresistible move for the England international.

Dele Alli 4/1

Once the darling of the England team, 25-year-old Alli has since fallen out of favour for country and to a lesser extent club. The midfielder has frustrated fans at Tottenham Hotspur a lot recently, but will new boss Antonio Conte want to keep Alli's contribution around or will he prefer an extra space in the dressing room?

Ross Barkley 4/1

Another player who shone brightly as a youngster then faded somewhat, prompting some to question if players get too many minutes too soon. The former England star has been in the doldrums recently and although he came on as a substitute for Chelsea against Newcastle, his future looks unlikely to be in blue.

Jesse Lingard 9/2

Yet another former England star who seemed to lose something over the past few years, that is until Manchester United loaned the 28-year-old to West Ham last season. Suddenly he was back to his best, scoring goals, but now he's back at Old Trafford he must be thinking about whether he's really wanted around.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 5/1

The 24-year-old striker is number nine at Everton, currently managed by former Toon boss Rafa Benitez. Last season he was on fire with goals aplenty seeing him named player of the year. This season was more of the same until he fractured his toe. What makes the bookies think Newcastle could entice him is unclear.
