Dele Alli injury update as Mauricio Pochettino reveals star broke two bones in hand

Dele Alli is şet to miss Tottenham’s clash with Huddersfield because of a broken hand - but should be fit to face Manchester City .

Tottenham midfielder Alli broke two bones in his hand during the win over Champions League win over City on Tuesday night.

Alli wants to carry on playing while the injury heals but will need a protective cast with Spurs hoping he will be ready for the trip to the Etihad next Wednesday.

But Mauricio Pochettino admitted he is likely to miss the Huddersfield game which is a blow as they are already without Harry Kane and are still chasing a place in the top four.

"He broke his hand in two parts. It is so painful, yesterday he saw specialist and today we see how he will deal with situation.

“I'm not optimistic about tomorrow, I am more optimistic he will be available for Man City in the second leg. We'll see and we'll take decision that is best for everyone.”

Dele Alli reveals why he has the utmost admiration for Raheem Sterling

Son was outstanding earlier in the season when Kane missed several weeks because of a similar ankle problem and Pochettino says he can handle it again.

Pochettino said: “There's no pressure for him, there's a pressure for us and the team to try and deliver our best job and win games. I think for Sonny, Fernando (Llorente), Lucas (Moura), Christian (Eriksen), Dele it's the same pressure and responsibility.

“For me, football is about collective and keep in the same way of thinking to improve and increase the level, it is going to be tough because there are going to be some decisive games to be in top four next season and go to next stage of Champions League.

“We are so confident and can believe we can achieve what we want.”
