Dele Alli drops hint on his Tottenham future amid PSG transfer links

Dele Alli has revealed his future ambitions amid talk of an exit from Tottenham.

The midfielder was strongly tipped to link back up with Mauricio Pochettino at PSG during the January window having fallen out with Jose Mourinho.

But a move never materialised and Alli would go on to hold positive talks with his boss, leading to a Premier League appearance off the bench against Manchester City last time out.

Involvement from the bench is a good start given Alli has only made five Premier League appearances so far this season, but the England international will want to be starting games.

And that could lead him away from Tottenham in the summer, particularly with his lofty ambitions.

"When I won the Young Player of the Year award, the next year I wanted to be the Player of the Year, I just want to achieve as much as I can in football," he told the FIFA PlayOn Podcast.

"That’s always my main focus and at the minute it’s obviously not going very well for me personally because I have not been in the team so yeah I will be looking to sort that situation out but I want to get back to playing and trying to win as much as I can.

"I’m getting to that point where I want to start winning trophies and be a part of something and try and win as much as I can in terms of trophies for the team."

That update might just concern Tottenham fans who want Alli to stick around.

The midfielder's ambitions very much lining up with the club's, of course, but Alli is going to want to put himself in the best position to win trophies, and with limited opportunities this season, he may well feel that is not in North London with Spurs not winning a trophy since 2007.

The 24-year-old is under contract until 2024 at Tottenham.
