Dele Alli and Harry Winks latest as Tottenham faced with injury doubts ahead of Manchester United

Nuno Espirito Santo is giving nothing away as he weighs up whether Dele Alli or Harry Winks will be involved for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United.

United head to North London on Saturday looking for a much-needed win, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing increasing pressure as manager following last weekend’s humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.

He’ll come up against another under-fire manager in Nuno Espirito Santo, with questions being asked about the Spurs boss after a less-than convincing start to the season.

Nuno faces a few selection issues ahead of United’s visit, including what to do about out-of-favour duo Alli and Winks.

The pair were left out of Spurs’ squad for their midweek win over Burnley in the Carabao Cup, despite being able to name a larger nine-man bench.

Winks has struggled to force his way into Nuno’s plans this season, and has been linked with a move away, while Alli has found himself out of favour in recent weeks after making a good start to the season.

Nuno though kept his cards close to his chest when he was asked about the possibility of the pair bring included against United, saying in his pre-match press conference: “We are working with all the players then we will decide squad for the match.”

Meanwhile, the Spurs boss also have an update on injured pair Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon ahead of the weekend.

Gil was forced off injured during the first half of Wednesday’s win at Burnley, and looks to be a major doubt for Saturday, while Sessegnon remains out having picked up an injury while on England U21 duty last month.

“Bryan we have a problem with,” Nuno said. “We are assessing. Sessegnon is not involved, still not in the group. Normal knocks after the game.”

Elsewhere, Steven Bergwijn could be involved for Spurs after recently making his return from injury, while Matt Doherty is expected to be in contention after being named as an unused substitute in midweek.
