Dele Alli and Erik Lamela face late Tottenham fitness tests for Man City Champions League game

Dele Alli and Erik Lamela have travelled with the Tottenham squad to face Manchester City but face late fitness tests to see if they are available for the Champions League quarter-final.

The two trained at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening and Mauricio Pochettino will hope to be able to call on them for the game . Alli missed the Huddersfield game at the weekend with a broken hand while Lamela has been absent with a hamstring issue.

Harry Kane, who injured himself in the first leg, has been ruled out and Serge Aurier, Eric Dier and Harry Winks are also sidelined.

Pochettino cut a happy figure as he looked forward to the game, and reacted positively when he was told that Ronaldinho has predicted Tottenham to win the Champions League.

"Wow. He knows a lot about football and I am going to respect him," he said.

Pep Guardiola provides Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling injury update ahead of Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur

"He was a great team-mate when we played together in PSG, we spend amazing time together on the pitch, training ground, not outside…

"Why not? In football, all can happen, like in life, you must believe and have trust in yourself and your ability and quality to win.

"It's good for our players to listen to that because if Ronaldinho say that it increases our belief and maybe tomorrow we are able to beat an amazing team like Man City. I learn a lot from him - How he took football, always dancing, always smiling. Football is not a drama, it's a sport that if you want to play well and show your real quality you must be happy and smile."
