Chaos ensued on the M74 at Hamilton during rush hour this morning after a lorry shed its load of onions.
Currently, part of the Northbound motorway between junction 5 Raith and junction 4 Maryville is closed to allow for recovery of the vehicle and its vegetables.
The incident has been ongoing since 2.30am on Friday, March 12, when the lorry overturned.
The driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
Travel times on the route are now delayed while the clean-up operation takes place.

Traffic Scotland are warning road users of the accident and posted: “Lanes 1 and 2 of the M74 Northbound between Junction 5 Raith and Junction 4 Maryville are currently closed due to a road traffic incident.
“Motorists are advised to use caution on approach and allow extra time for their journey.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30am on Friday, March 12, officers were called to the M74 near the Raith Interchange following a report of a lorry overturning.
“The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution and recovery remains ongoing.”
