The M61 remains shut after a stolen car smashed into barriers.
A silver Chevrolet Captiva crashed on a link road connecting the M61 southbound to the A580 at 4.40am on Tuesday.
Police are searching for the driver, who had fled by the time officers arrived.
It is understood the car was stolen from Clifton, Salford.
No one is thought to have been hurt.

The slip road to the A580 from Kearsley and the M61 southbound access road were still shut as of 12.30pm.
Earlier, police shared an image of the vehicle abandoned in the middle of the road.

The closures are causing tailbacks to junction five, for Westhoughton, on the M61.
There are also reports of queuing traffic along the A666 St Peter's Way.
North West Motorway Police said they hope the route will have re-opened before afternoon rush hour.
PC Phil Raymond, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “I’d like to thank the public for their patience as we respond to this incident.
“The road remains closed so that essential work can take place to ensure the road surface and crash barriers are made safe following the collision.
“Our enquiries to trace the driver continue and I would urge any members of the public with information, or anyone with dashcam, to get in touch with police as soon as possible.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a man in dark clothing walking near junction 13 of the M60 around the time of the collision."
