Lanes will be closed on a busy city road for a month so fibre can be put down in the carriageway.
From Monday, August 9, the work will start in the Western Boulevard area, between Aspley and Whitemoor.
Engineers will work at weekends on the carriageway's junctions with Haslemere Road and Newlyn Drive.
Lanes will be closed one at a time over four weekends.
The project will last until Monday, September 6.
Moderate delays to traffic are expected.
The work will be undertaken by J McCann and Co Limited on behalf of City Fibre.
