A bridge near the Castle Marina Retail Park has been partially closed due to a gas leak.
Trentbarton said the closure of Abbey Bridge in Lenton was only for traffic heading towards Nottingham city centre.
The bus company said in a Tweet on Monday morning (September 27) that its skylink Nottingham service was affected and unable to stop on the bridge.
The inbound lane of the bridge is closed from Hoyland Avenue to the Abbey Bridge roundabout.
Work is being carried out by Cadent Gas and is expected to last until Friday, October 8.
Moderate delays to traffic are expected.
Meanwhile, motorists can also expect disruption by the heightened demand for fuel.
Nottingham City Transport said some of its buses had been forced to divert on Monday morning, September 27, because of queues for the Asda petrol station in West Bridgford.
