A Mallard patiently sits on her nest in a wild part of my garden: I live off the M25 in a place more Crimewatch than Country Watch, and this is the first time ever a duck has waddled into my life! She has been abandoned by the Drake and so I am feeding her a diet of Quaker Oats, lettuce and dried meal worms. There are about ten eggs under her duck duvet.
