Delaware’s Pro Day draws in three representatives from Chargers

The Chargers are definitely in the market for a free safety given the lack of depth at the position. Earlier, we found out they will have Mississippi State’s Johnathan Abram for a visit, but the team seems to be showing interest in another prolific safety.

Los Angeles was in attendance for Delaware’s Pro Day last week to catch a glimpse of free safety Nasir Adderley up close and personal, according to Draft Diamond’s Damond Talbot.

The representatives there consisted of defensive backs coach Ron Milus, Director of College Scouting Kevin Kelly and Area Scout Tyler Lion.

Adderley has been mocked to the Chargers in the first round throughout the pre-draft circuit as media pundits are also well aware that the team lacks a player that is able to man the single-high role.

Los Angeles has struggled to find a steady and consistent player to take over the position, but Adderley has the ability to change that. Known for his range, ball and playmaking skills, the No. 1 small-school prospect would bring something special to pair with safety Derwin James.

If L.A. is serious with drafting a safety early on, they would likely have to snag Adderley with their pick at No. 28 overall because it’s unlikely that he will be available in the second round.
