Deji wants rematch with Jake Paul after exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather

Deji has vowed to "right his wrongs" by securing a rematch with Jake Paul after his exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather.

The YouTube star has fought five times in the boxing ring since launching his career with his first bout coming in a white-collar defeat by Paul back in 2018. Since then Deji - real name Oladeji Olatunji - has lost in two fights as a professional against Vinnie Hacker and Alex Wassabi, but recently put in a superb display to stop Fousey and earn his first win.

After his win, the British fighter's confidence has risen and he has managed to secure a sensational exhibition meeting with Floyd Mayweather on the back of his display on his brother KSI's undercard earlier this year. The fight will take place on November 3 at the Coca Cola Arena, and it would put his name on a pedestal in the social media boxing world if he is able to survive the eight round distance.

However Deji has revealed he has unfinished business with Paul and has proposed that he rematches his two previous conquerors Hacker and Wassabi before revisiting his rivalry with the American. "I would love that rematch," he said on the RIL & WILLS YouTube channel when discussing a potential second fight with Paul. "I would love to right my wrongs after that loss. Maybe I could go Vnnie Hacker, Alex Wassabi and then back to Paul."

Dejihas had a tough boxing journey since his loss to Paul, claiming on multiple occasions he could retire following his back-to-back defeats, but proved his critics wrong with a dominant win last time out. Paul has since gone on his own trajectory, winning five professional fights, including against former UFC fighters Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.

The 25-year-old will next take on UFC legend Anderson Silva and it appears he is moving further away from the YouTube boxing world, despite agreeing to a winner-takes-all clash with Deji's brother KSI next year. Deji previously called out Paul for a second meeting prior to his win back in August.

"That's the plan," Deji told Mirror Fighting about a possible rematch. "I need to build up a portfolio, but who knows I might get another shot at redemption. I guess I'd need maybe five wins, potentially, we'll see though, nobody knows. Even if you hate Jake Paul, you have to respect what he's doing, I don't hate him, but I hated him back then.

"As of now, not really because you grow up and everything but I have just nothing but respect for what he's doing. To get in the ring is one of the hardest things to do." Paul quickly hit back with a very clear response on Twitter, writing: "Deji is a walking pube, I feel bad for the people that are f****** idiots."
