Deji explains what Floyd Mayweather was saying to him during exhibition fight

YouTube star Deji has revealed that Floyd Mayweather was boasting about himself being great during their exhibition fight.

Boxing legend Mayweather competed in his latest exhibition venture this past weekend against Deji, who is the brother of fellow YouTube star KSI. 'Money' clowned around for most of the fight and even went into Deji's corner during the breaks before stopping him in the sixth round.

The former five-weight world champion could be seen talking to Deji during the fight, but his words were inaudible on the broadcast. Deji said of their mid-fight interactions: "He was just having fun in there, doing whatever. He was talking a lot, going 'I'm Money Mayweather, I do what I do!' and all that."

The exhibition was in doubt just hours before it was scheduled to take place as Mayweather demanded Deji to wear 10z gloves, despite the YouTuber's contract stating he was allowed to wear 14o gloves. 'Money' also refused to make his ring walk until Jake Paul was removed from the venue. Deji admitted he was scared to getting in the ring with Mayweather but was proud of his performance having left the ring legend with a black eye.

"It takes a lot to get in the ring, I am proud of myself for even doing this because initially I was scared to do this fight with Floyd. Now look at me, I'm out here with a big smile on my face. His punch placement was very good and his accuracy was immense, he's very slick. I did catch him but I kind of doubted myself a bit in the ring, over time I was getting the flow of things," Deji said.

Mayweather is used to taking no damage from his fights and he laughed off the injury, stating: "That's cool, you guys wanted to see a little something. I had to close the gap and when you close the gap that happens. I'm glad that Deji landed a good shot. This is part of fighting, this is part of entertaining. Everyone wanted to see entertainment and that's what we gave them tonight."

It's unclear how much money both men made from the exhibition, but Mayweather will likely pocket another multi-million payday for the fight. The 45-year-old earned $15-20million for his exhibition with MMA fighter Mikuru Asukara in September and took home eight-figures for facing former sparring partner Don Moore in May.
