Dejan Lovren FaceTimes Mohamed Salah on arrival in Russia following Zenit transfer

Mohamed Salah and Dejan Lovren had an amusing chat via FaceTime as the defender arrived in Saint Petersburg following his move to Zenit.

Liverpool announced last week that they had agreed a £11m deal to sell the 31-year-old to the Russian club, drawing to an end his six year spell at Anfield.

Salah and Lovren became close friends during their time playing together, and Zenit's official Twitter account posted a video of the two in conversation with Lovren in a taxi.

The call starts with Lovren saying "Wow... what a nice haircut" to a freshly-trimmed Salah, to which he replies "Thank you. Better than yours."

Lovren then adds: "I just arrived and came out the airport. I saw people who welcomed me, and behind I saw a bear. It was crazy! So I said 'is this a zoo, or what?'

"They said 'don't worry, he's friendly with people.'"

After further discussions about Lovren's new training regime, Salah cheekily asks "Are you the captain now, or not?"

Lovren then laughs before complimenting Salah's haircut again.

Salah was clearly gutted by the news of Lovren's departure from Liverpool, and paid tribute in a video message, in which he told the centre-back he's his best mate and that he loves him.

Lovren replied last week, saying: "It was something special [our friendship].

"But, it's like I have always said, it's just the beginning of a big friendship. Even when we will be far apart, he knows he can always call me, whatever reason.

"I am always here for him. It's about friendship inside and outside the dressing room.

"I think people understood the friendship, especially between me and Mo. What it means, and yes, I can see lots of positive comments.

"Maybe a couple of years later, we can be altogether proud of this achievement. I wish everyone good luck, I hope they stay healthy, and we will always be in touch."
