Deion Sanders says former Eagles CB Eric Allen deserves Hall of Fame nod

Eric Allen is one of the best defensive backs to ever play the game, a man who epitomized exactly what a shutdown player cornerback can be during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen is the best cornerback in franchise history, and the best to ever play the game at the position believes he deserves a Hall of Fame nod.

With the Pro Football Hall of Fame approving additional members to the 2020 class as part of the NFL’s 100th-anniversary celebration, ‘Primetime’ made the case for Allen getting into the Hall on Twitter.

During his seven seasons with the Eagles, Allen started 110 games, racking up 34 career interceptions and 408 combined tackles. During the 1993 season, Allen returned four interceptions for touchdowns. In his career with the Eagles, Saints, and Raiders, Allen finished with 54 interceptions (eight returned for touchdowns), six forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.

Allen’s been retired since 2001 and doesn’t make the cut to be eligible for induction on the special format.
