'Definition of beast mode' - Liverpool fans react to Virgil van Dijk's incredible Premier League stats

Virgil van Dijk has been imperious at the heart of Liverpool's defence all season, and fans have been amazed by a compilation of the centre-back's stats.

The stats radar which includes numbers for tackles, clearances and aerial duels outlines the centre-back's defensive dominance.

Liverpool have kept 17 clean sheets this campaign with the Dutch captain steering the Reds to 16 of those.

Jurgen Klopp's side have conceded just 19 goals in 33 games and Van Dijk has been integral to Liverpool's Premier League title charge.

The magnificent numbers are evidence of what fans and pundits have been saying this year, with Van Dijk one of the favourites to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.

On Friday night the central defender will make his return to St Mary's Stadium as the Reds take on his former club Southampton.

Van Dijk will be hoping to lead Klopp's team to another clean sheet and three crucial points in the title race.

Supporters reacted positively to the post which received over 3,000 likes, many couldn't believe the 27-year-old's sensational figures.

While another replied to the post comically questioning his price tag: "£75m? When do we pay the second instalment?"
