Definitely no more Davina

BBC1 controller Peter Fincham defended his decision to axe the chat show Davina.

He said at his controller session that he had considered giving the series another go before deciding to axe the series after its first run. The show recorded small and declining ratings despite being given a prime time weekday slot. It was critically derided for failing to attract interesting guests.

He said: "It ran for the 8 weeks run. But if it came back you would be sitting here saying why are you bringing it back."

Fincham had hoped that Big Brother host McCall's show would add "glamour" and higher ratings to Wednesday evenings.
