Adam Werbach talks about his early environmental leanings. Co-founder and president of Yerdle, an online marketplace with the mission of reducing the number of new things we buy by 25%, Werbach helped oust Ronald Reagan’s interior secretary, James Watt, at age 12. In his below audio entry, Werbach describes how that changed his life.

A longtime environmental activist, Werbach founded the Sierra Student Coalition and helped to pass the legislation to create Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Park. He was elected national president of the Sierra Club at age 23. He left to form Act Now Productions, working with clients ranging from the Beastie Boys to the World Wildlife Fund, and helping Walmart and dozens of other companies build their sustainability programs. He lives in San Francisco and Bolinas, California, with his wife Lyn and their three children.
