Defiant Patsy Hutch turns out at funeral of Tommy 'The Zombie' Savage

Defiant Patsy Hutch yesterday turned out to pay a final farewell to INLA thug Tommy “The Zombie” Savage.

Kinahan target Patsy attended the funeral at St Colmcille’s Catholic Church in Swords, North Co Dublin, before making his way to Dardistown Cemetery for the burial.

Wearing a cap, a black mask, glasses, a black North Face top and blue jeans, he was snapped beside other mourners at the cemetery.

Notorious gangster Savage, from Swords, died last Thursday aged 71 after suffering a heart attack.

On the same day, his old pal and Patsy’s brother Gerry “The Monk” Hutch was lifted in Spain on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

He is wanted in connection with the murder of the Kinahan cartel’s David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin, an attack he is suspected of masterminding.

The Monk and Savage were associates and knew each other well.

Despite the threat from the Kinahan mob, Mr Hutch joined 150 mourners for Requiem Mass and around 50 people in the graveyard.

It is understood he is not connected to crime and travelled to and from the service on his own.

Mr Hutch rarely leaves his home in Dublin’s north inner city, where he has just welcomed home his son Derek “Del Boy” Hutch following his release from jail.

Del Boy is also on the Kinahan hit list and was handed a Garda Information Message warning him of the threat on his life.

Gardai also keep a constant presence near their home.

Kinahan’s gunmen have previously tried to kill Patsy on a number of occasions.

A nine-man gang are behind bars for trying to kill him in March 2018.

British soldier Robert Browne, brothers Patrick and Stephen Curtis, siblings Glen and Gary Thompson, Mark Capper and Mohammed Smew are among those serving sentences.

Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Bureau foiled the murder bid but are aware of previous plots to kill Patsy.

The murder of Patsy’s son Gary on the Costa del Sol in 2015 ignited the long-running bloody feud.

His brother Eddie, a 58-year-old cabbie, was shot dead days after the Regency attack.

Their two nephews Gareth Hutch and Derek Coakley Hutch were also later killed in the dispute which claimed 18 lives.

Few people believed Savage would die of natural causes.

He cheated death in 2016 when a gunman shot 12 bullets at him as he sat in his car in Swords and escaped with just a grazed wrist.
