Defiant Bayer Leverkusen refuse Celtic injury white flag despite 4 key stars on the shelf

Injury-ravaged Bayer Leverkusen are heading into their their Europa League showdown with Celtic missing four key players.

The Parkhead side face the Germans on Thursday and are just a point behind Real Betis - who they play in the final group game - with two games left in the section.

Leverkusen dismantled Celtic 4-0 in Glasgow in September, but injuries and a loss of form have hampered them since.

They went four Bundesliga games without a win before ending that sequence with a narrow victory against Bochum at the weekend thanks to a goal from Amine Adli.

However, they could be set to be without four key players for the clash against Ange Postecoglou 's side after Julian Baumgartlinger, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Mitchel Bakker and Lucas Alario all missed their weekend win.

But Seoane insists his men have turned a corner.

He said: "I think the international break came at a good time for us. It gave us time to regroup.

"We know we didn't live up to expectations in terms of the points we collected before the break, but we also knew there have been circumstances through injuries that contributed to this.

"We deserved to win and created the most chances. It's great for us to go back to winning matches.

"The players who have been injured are getting closer to fitness and we will have a look at them all this week. But I am happy with the group I have at the moment."
