Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah returns to practice for Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ezekiel Ansah has finally returned to the practice field. After recovering from shoulder surgery and battling a groin injury this summer, the pass rusher could be ready to play as soon as the start of the regular season.

“He moved around fine,” coach Pete Carroll said of the defensive end’s performance Tuesday. “He went through the individual drills, he’ll do more tomorrow. He’s on his way back. His shoulder is healed, and his groin is healed, and he’s ready to battle.”

The Seahawks have their final game of the preseason this Thursday night against the Raiders but Ansah will likely make his game-day debut in the regular-season opener instead.

“It’s been a long, rigorous return,” Carroll continued. “Man, he’s busted his tail and he’s made it. We were hoping he would make it before the final week which he did. So, we’ll take it and see how far we can go.”

Seattle has one more practice Wednesday before squaring off against Oakland at CenturyLink Field.
