Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah is ready to play Sunday against Saints

The Seahawks will finally get to see the debut of defensive end Ezekiel Ansah when they square off against the New Orleans Saints Week 3 at CenturyLink Field.

“Ziggy is ready to play, ready to play football,” Carroll told reporters after Friday’s walkthrough. “So we’re excited to see that. It’s been a really good process to get him to this where he’s in good shape too.”

Ansah, who Seattle signed this spring as a free agent, spent the offseason recovering from shoulder surgery and the Seahawks had no plans to rush the defensive end back.

Ansah returned to practice shortly before the start of the season but was inactive for the first two weeks of the year. He is now ready to see the field on gameday, without significant snap limitations.

“He’s worked hard and long so he’s in better shape than sometimes when a guy is just coming back,” Carroll continued. “So we’ll be able to get him a bunch of plays here in this game. Look forward to his participation with us.”

The Seahawks and Saints are set to kick off this Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT. Click here for everything you need to know to catch the action Week 3.
