Pete Carroll says Ezekiel Ansah has ‘long process’ to get back on field

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t going to rush Ezekiel Ansah back onto the field before he’s ready, allowing the pass rusher proper time to recover from shoulder surgery.

Ansah finished last season on the Lions injured reserve after just seven games played.

“Where he is, he’s in the process,” coach Pete Carroll said after Tuesday’s OTAs. “He’s got a long process to get back. His attitude is great. He’s working every day, involved in all phases of everything that’s going on in the training room and with strength and conditioning. It’s just going to take a while and we’ll see.”

The Seahawks, who began the third phase of their offseason workouts this week, will wrap up for spring following the mandatory minicamp in mid-June. Carroll doesn’t expect to have any further updates on Ansah until training camp begins at the end of July.

“I can’t tell you anything more than other than just got to wait and see,” Carroll said. “But he’s doing everything he can and we’re all on it and really fired up about him being here.”
