Devils defeat Blackhawks 3-2

Nov. 13--Other than Patrick Kane, Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov, the Hawks had trouble generating offense in the 3-2 loss to the Devils on Thursday at the United Center. Kane and Panarin scored, but it wasn't enough for the Hawks after Sergey Kalinin scored the winning goal with 2:27 left in the third period.

Kane stays hot

Kane scored the first goal of the night toward the end of a 5-on-3 power play in the first period. It marked the 11th straight game Kane tallied at least one point. He also has scored a goal in four consecutive games.

Henrique's revenge

Adam Henrique was on the short end of a fight with Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews when the teams met last week in Newark, N.J. But Henrique got a little revenge on Thursday when he scored a goal in the second period to tie the game 1-1. Henrique skated into the slot and fired a shot past Corey Crawford for his eighth goal of the season.

Defense gets crossed up

The Devils took the lead in the second period even though the Hawks had the Devils' Kyle Palmieri and Sergey Kalinin outnumbered as they entered the Hawks zone. Kalinin fired a shot that bounced off Crawford, but the defense allowed Palmieri to squeak by and slam home the rebound to make the score 2-1 late in the second period.

Bread man delivers again

Panarin scored his fifth goal of the season with the Hawks desperate to tie the score. Panarin put home a blocked shot past Devils goaltender Cory Schneider to tie the score 2-2 with 6:41 left in the third period.
