ONE of Scotland’s best family fun motoring festivals is back at the end of this month – and it promises to be bigger and better.
Defender Jam is taking place on Saturday, August 31, at Kelburn Country Park, near Largs, Ayrshire, and offers so much more than a celebration of everything Land Rover.
Now in its third year, there will be live music, DJs, kids’ entertainment, street food, an arts and crafts market, various automotive stalls, and everything from vintage Series and Defenders to Range Rovers and modern-day tuned vehicles such as a works V8 on show.
The famous Land Rover Experience Terrapod will be on site for people to try out, there will be green laning around the estate and Taggarts will show the current range.
The entrance fee includes entry to the Kelburn Estate, with the Secret Forest, Adventure Course and fortress-style Wild West Saloon, and there will be a Land Rover-themed adventure trail for kids on the day.
You can book to stay in the camping area or make it a day trip – the festival starts at 10am and finishes at midnight.
Tickets cost £25 per adult and £5 per child for tent camping and full day admission or £15 for an adult day ticket and £4 for children under 16 (kids under two get in free).
Organiser Martyn Henderson said: “This event is not just for Land Rover owners but is a fun, relaxed day out for the family if you have an interest in these iconic vehicles.”
