Deep fried Quality Street on sale at chip shop

Since the dawn of the battered Mars Bar in the chip shops of Scotland, fryers have been finding new and wonderful thinks to dunk in goo and cook in hot oil.

Battered Jaffa Cakes are a thing, and even whole Christmas dinners have been battered.

But one London chippie has taken the experience to a whole new level - battering and deep frying Quality Street sweets then ranking each one, reports The Mirror .

From December 1 until Christmas Day Poppies of Soho will be selling "lucky dips" of deep fried sweets for £2.50.

There will be five sweets in each selection and Poppies has ranked each of the 12 available options to say which they think is best when battered and cooked.

Here's a look at their list:

1. Toffee Finger

2. The Purple One

3. Chocolate Caramel Brownie

4. Strawberry Delight

5. Toffee Penny

6. Orange Creme

7. The Green Triangle

8. Fudge

9. Orange Chocolate Crunch

10. Milk Choc Block

11. Caramel Swirl

12. Coconut Eclair

The ranking has been drawn up by staff but throughout the festive season the shop will ask customers which they think is best - to come up with a new league table.

Fans are already clamouring for the treat on social media, with one saying: "I have died and gone to heaven."

Another wrote: "Have to try this," and a third added: "This is a whole other level."
