Deebo Samuel is the San Francisco 49ers’ Swiss Army Knife.
The wide receiver has done a little bit of everything for the Niners this season. He’s been a vital part of the team’s passing offense thanks to his ability to get open downfield and shred defenses after the catch. He’s filled in at running back when injuries beset San Francisco, setting an NFL record with eight rushing touchdowns as a wideout in 2021. He’s even thrown for a touchdown, an option toss to Jauan Jennings that helped the 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18 and punch their ticket to the postseason.
None of those moments, however, may have been more impressive than his third quarter touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. Samuel turned this jumbled mass of humanity:
into a 26-yard touchdown run. It was a vital score that gave the visitors a 23-7 lead over the NFC East champions.
