Dee Devlin throws party for Conor McGregor as he becomes world's highest-paid athlete

Dee Devlin threw a party for her fiance Conor McGregor after the UFC star was crowned the world's highest-paid athlete.

The UFC saw off the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton to claim the number one spot in Forbes annual list after reportedly earning $180m (€149m) between May of 2020 and this year.

It was an achievement that was celebrated by McGregor's long-term love Dee and their two children, Conor Junior and Croia, in Dubai.

Posting a picture of McGregor holding a party balloon on Instagram, Dee wrote: "Success is no accident, it’s hard work. We are so proud of you!!!"

The 32-year-old fighter made an eye-watering €123 million ($150 million) from his recent sale of whiskey brand Proper Twelve to Proximo Spirits, as well as €18 million ($22 million) from his sporting exploits

He himself wrote: "Baby we did it!! Uimhir a Haon. Thank you Forbes for recognizing my role as an entrepreneur!

"It was a dream to lead this list with so many successful athletes! Onwards and upwards we go."

Conor and Dee are also looking forward to a new arrival to the family with Dee due to give birth to their child in the coming days.

The family have been in the Middle East for several weeks now as Conor gears up for a third fight with American Dustin Poirier in July.
