Dee Devlin shares happy memory with Conor McGregor one of the UFC star's greatest nights

As Conor McGregor gears up for a UFC return in the coming months, Dee Devlin has taken fans on a trip down memory lane to one of his greatest nights.

Devlin has shared the happy memory of when the Notorious one became a UFC two-weight champion, adding Eddie Alvarez's lightweight belt to his growing list of achievements in November 2016.

Since then, the Dubliner has gone on to face Floyd Mayweather in a money-spinning boxing fight before taking on Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

He made a winning return to the Octagon earlier this year against Donald Cerrone, but after announcing his brief retirement from MMA, he's set to clash with old rival Dustin Poirier in a planned January return.

And as McGregor trains for his comeback, Devlin took to Instagram to share the memory from almost four years ago.

Meanwhile, Rafael dos Anjos believes a fight between him and Conor McGregor could finally happen.

The pair were due to face each other back in 2016 when dos Anjos was lightweight champion, but the Brazilian pulled out of the bout through injury.

He then went on to lose the belt to Eddie Alvarez, who McGregor defeated to become a two-weight champion on this day four years ago.

But dos Anjos now thinks a bout between him and the Dubliner could be back on if he beats Paul Felder this weekend.

He told Morning Kombat: “I’m past that. But, I believe that me being back at lightweight, this fight could happen. We never know. This a combat sport, injuries happen, it was bad for me.

“Not about money, not about payday, nothing about that, I never pull out of fights due to injuries my whole career.

"I’m going for my 30th UFC appearance this Saturday and I believe 43 total and I never had to pull out due to injury, that was my first time.

"I am back at lightweight, I am going to climb the rankings, Khabib, I don’t know if he is retired or not, but if he does, he will leave the division wide open.

"Anything can happen. We were scheduled to fight twice, me and Conor, so we will see."
