Dee Devlin praises Conor McGregor as UFC star celebrates €500m whiskey deal

Dee Devlin has paid tribute to her fiance Conor McGregor after the mega sale of his whiskey company.

UFC star McGregor, 32, is celebrating after selling a majority share in his Proper Twelve Whiskey company for close to €500 million.

Less than three years old, the whiskey brand has been a remarkable success, selling over 6 million bottles across the world in its first two and a half years of business.

It has prompted Proximo Spirits, a company that owns Jose Cuervo and other alcohol brands, to fork out the huge sum for a majority stake in the company.

And McGregor's long-term love Dee has heaped praise on the former two-weight UFC champion as the pair look forward to welcoming their third child together.

Writing on Instagram, Dee said: "Here’s to the greatest whiskey on earth, @properwhiskey! Amazing!

"I love you Conor SO much and I am so proud of you! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do everyday for our family!

"I can’t wait to have a Proper toast with you in a couple more weeks."

Crumlin man McGregor, who will retain an interest in the company, said on the announcement of the deal: “I founded Proper No. Twelve less than three years ago and today it has become a shining star in the spirits industry.

“This agreement is exciting for my partners and me, and the potential is limitless! Our vision is for Proper No. Twelve to continue its incredible growth worldwide and to keep bringing new consumers to the now-reinvigorated Irish whiskey market.”
