Dedryck Boyata caught KISSING team-mate as former Celtic star flouts Bundesliga's social distancing rules

Former Celtic star Dedryck Boyata was caught on camera breaking the Bundesliga's strict social distancing rules - by planting a kiss on team-mate Marko Grujic.

Germany's top-flight stars are adjusting to football's "new normal" inside empty stadiums and have been asked not to celebrate as a team.

But it appears the Belgian centre-back got a little too caught up in the moment following Hertha Berlin's 3-0 win away at Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Pictures show Boyata up close and personal with on-loan Liverpool midfielder Grujic during Saturday's clash, the first round of league action for two months.

It remains to be seen if the defender will be retrospectively punished.

Players at all Bundesliga matches arrived wearing masks and pre-match handshakes were also dispensed with as league chiefs attempt to prevent a coronavirus outbreak derailing their return to action.

German politician and Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soder previously suggested players could be sent off if they do not abide by the distancing measures.

He said: "If health experts have made those suggestions, if the league with great expense and smart ideas has worked on concepts, you have to stick to those rules.

"And if you do not stick to those rules, you might get the red card. It's like that in football as well as in real life."
