Dedicated volunteers keep West Lothian country park looking its best

Well done the dedicated members of Friends of Almondell and Calderwood Country Park who spent hours working hard to keep the park at its best.

The group meets every month to carry out various jobs around the country park and is always looking for more volunteers.

A spokesperson said: “The weather started as being a little drizzly, but turned out lovely for the volunteers.

“We also had four new volunteers join us which is very much appreciated, and we always enjoy new faces. Thank you to everyone who came along, many tasks were taken on including ditch clearing, de-stoning the road side of the wall, clearing brambles and holly bushes, tidying paths and more.

“The practical volunteers meet on the first Saturday of the month from 10am until 12pm and always welcome new volunteers. The work is not only worthwhile, but enjoyable to meet new people, and help the Almondell and Calderwood country park.”
