But this dog has shunned any talk of being a hindrance and thrown herself into full-time nannying work.
The adorable pup has proven herself to be more than useful when it comes to helping out and parenting the new baby.
She has been training for some time in order to become comfortable carrying out her daily duty of bringing the nappies.
Whenever the baby needs changing, the caring pup is on hand to bring her owner the product she needs.
The amusing video, which was uploaded by TikTok user @wrigleyandlulu, was a smash hit on the app, with more than 13 million views and about 3 million likes.
At the start of the clip, viewers get a glimpse behind the scenes at the dog’s training, with her owner holding out her hand for the pup to bring a nappy to.
All the hard work gets put into practice in the next part of the video, with the dog being put through her paces for real.
Her owner holds out her hand while changing the baby and the obedient canine quickly wanders into the room, nappy in mouth, ready to do her bit.
Viewers were clearly impressed by the dog’s helpfulness, with one commenting: “It’s a full-time job! And she’s doing great.”
