Dedicated care home worker Rosie makes history with second award win

A dedicated care home worker has broken new ground after becoming the first person to win a UK-wide award twice in a row.

Parksprings Care Home’s Rosie Brennan travelled to Leeds for the second year running to try and defend her most innovative activities title she picked up last year.

When she discovered she had won the title for the second year running the news nearly swept her off her feet.

Rosie told the Wishaw Press: “I was just absolutely shocked to be honest.

“I knew I’d done well with the votes but when they were announcing the nominees I was just looking to see who was going to win it besides me.

“When they announced my name I was so shocked I nearly fell off my chair!”

Rosie, who organises several trips and activities for the care home’s residents, wanted to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

She added: ““Everybody’s saying I’ve got to try and get a hat-trick now!

“To win twice in a row is just unbelievable.

“All I try and do is make sure our residents have the best possible time.”
