A body has been discovered in the trunk of an impounded car registered to indie singer-songwriter D4vd in Los Angeles, after staff at a tow lot reported a “foul odour” coming from the vehicle.
According to the Los Angeles Times, police made the grim find on Monday, September 8, at a lot just off Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. The remains, which were badly decomposed and wrapped in a bag, were located in the trunk.
Law enforcement sources said identification may take time, as the body was “not intact”.
Authorities confirmed the vehicle had been impounded several days earlier after being reported abandoned.
A spokesperson for the artist told NBC that although he remains on tour, he is “fully cooperating with authorities” in the investigation.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is currently on the North American leg of his Withered World Tour, with upcoming shows in Wisconsin, Minneapolis, Missouri, and Colorado before concluding in Los Angeles on September 20.

He is also scheduled to perform at Spilt Milk Festival and headline several Australian shows in December.
D4vd, pronounced “David”, first rose to fame through social media, garnering 3.6 million TikTok followers and two million on Instagram.
