Declan Rice has been urged to snub a move to Manchester United and stay at West Ham by Harry Redknapp.
The midfielder has been one of the standout stars in this season’s Premier League, helping West Ham build on their impressive showing in 2020/21 as they challenge for the top four once again.
Rice has firmly established himself as one of the top midfielders in the league, coming off the back of a superb summer for England at Euro 2020.
And his form has led to the 22-year-old being linked with a big money move away from the London Stadium, with United and Chelsea being heavily linked.
United have identified Rice as a number one target as they look to add to their midfield over the next year, but former Hammers and Tottenham boss Redknapp has told him to stay put.
Redknapp told talkSPORT : “He’s very much a massive part of the team at West Ham.
“It’s a great club to be at and unless he’s going to go Man City, maybe Man United or whatever.
“He’s been at Chelsea as a kid so I think that’d be a difficult one for them, to spend the money having given him away when he was young.
“So I think he’s in a great place at West Ham and I’d like to see him stay there long term. He’s in the England team so it’s not holding him back at all and West Ham look like a team who are on the up.
“They could be challenging for trophies in the next year so hopefully, for West Ham’s sake, he stays another few years there.”
