Declan Rice told to join Man City over Manchester United and other transfer rumours

Declan Rice has been told to snub Manchester United and join Manchester City by a former United player.

Brazilian midfielder Kleberson believes the West Ham and England star would be better served moving to the blue half of Manchester when he eventually leaves the Hammers.

Rice's stock has continued to rise after a very impressive 2020 European Championships at the heart of the Three Lions midfield.

He has picked up where he left off in domestic competition and has excelled on the European stage in the UEFA Europa League.

The increased speculation about his next club has seen Kleberson weigh in, saying that his playing style would fit in better at City under Pep Guardiola.

“It would be good to see Declan Rice play for Manchester City as they base their play around keeping the ball for long periods of time, which is something that Declan Rice likes to do,” Kleberson told Paddy Power.

“The style of play that Pep Guardiola creates would be perfect for him and the way Pep interacts with his players, is something that Rice would benefit from massively.”

Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, are reporting that Raheem Sterling has asked the club to enter negotiations with Barcelona in order for him to leave.

Sterling has seen his playing time decrease this season as speculation arose in the summer that he would be used as a bargaining chip to be sent to Tottenham Hotspur, with Harry Kane moving the other way.

There were also reports Arsenal were interested, as are Newcastle United following their Saudi Arabian-backed takeover.

But the Spanish media outlet claim that Sterling wants to join Barcelona.

Guardiola addressed the rumours after Sterling's goal against Everton on Sunday, saying: "Mine and Raheem's focus is on the games, I'm not going to answer any questions about what's going to happen in the future because I don't know what's going to happen."

But it seems it's too little too late, with Sterling's mind allegedly made up according to the report.
