Declan Rice stance on Man City transfer revealed as Arsenal face £100m battle

Manchester City are preparing an offer for West Ham United captain and Arsenal transfer target Declan Rice, football.london understands.

The north London outfit have made Rice their priority target for the summer transfer window and they have so far seen two bids rebuffed by the Hammers. The Gunners had a first bid of £80million plus at least £10million in add-ons rejected last week before another offer, which remained under West Ham's £100million asking price, was turned down on Tuesday.

Now, City have entered the race to sign the 24-year-old, with Pep Guardiola's side preparing to make an offer. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the player is also open to any move, a blow for Arsenal who will be desperate to land their man ahead of the Citizens.

Writing on Twitter, Romano said: "Manchester City have decided to bid for Declan Rice after calling West Ham last Friday to be informed #MCFC Man City also checked player’s side - understand Rice is open to any move so deal depends on the clubs now.

"Arsenal, planning to bid again since last week." At the end of June, the talented midfielder will be into the final 12 months of his contract at the London Stadium.
