Declan Rice reaches out to Man Utd star after "incredible" win over AC Milan

Declan Rice has sent Harry Maguire a message of congratulations after Manchester United's Europa League win.

The Red Devils secured a 1-0 success at the San Siro to march into the last eight of the competition.

Paul Pogba scored their winner in the second-half after coming off the bench.

Maguire posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: "Leading the lads out to victory at the San Siro".

Rice, who is team-mates with the United skipper at international level, responded by saying: "Incredible bro".

The West Ham midfielder has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer.

His performances at the London Stadium have made him a key figure and the Hammers could demand as much as £100m for his services.

United are set to add new faces once the season ends and Rice does fit the profile of player they are looking to sign.

The 22-year-old will be more inclined to join the Red Devils if they are playing in the Champions League next term.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side look well placed to finish in the top four this season, but could also secure a place by winning the Europa League.

United were knocked out in the semi-finals by Sevilla last term, but their manager has hailed the direction in which they seem to be going.

He said: “Momentum is underrated in football. When you keep winning games, you get that boost of energy, you get that feeling when you go on to the pitch. You’re more confident.

"If you’re losing, you’re afraid of losing again and afraid of making mistakes. This means a lot for the boys and the atmosphere is good in the dressing room.

"We’ve just got to recover quickly because there’s a game again on Sunday which we’re looking forward to.

"We’ve got a breather from the league, but it’s a big game again, a quarter-final and we dust ourselves down and go again.”
