Declan Rice makes decision amid Chelsea links as David Moyes gives Frank Lampard verdict

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Sunday, December 20.

Chelsea fans make Spurs point

Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, and Chelsea and Arsenal supporters have made a point regarding rivals Tottenham.

The Reds, who beat Spurs in midweek to claim top position, extended their advantage to six points with a ruthless display in London. Blues supporters have spotted something, whilst taking a slight dig at their London rivals.

On Twitter, @JaskaranBrahach said: "Liverpool have really gone and slapped Palace 7-0 who Spurs drew with. To think there's Thiago, Jota, VVD missing from this game as well.... people really thought they had a chance at the title this year."

Rice could consider his position

According to reports, Chelsea are looking to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in January and there has been an interesting development.

A report from ExWHUemployee claims that Rice will 'evaluate his position' if the Hammers accept a large offer from the Blues.

Frank Lampard wanted to bring the England international to Stamford Bridge over the summer, but West Ham wanted £80million for their asset.

After spending over £200million in the summer transfer window, it could come as a shock if Chelsea went in with a big-money move for Rice in January, which is usually a quieter period.

Moyes' Chelsea verdict

Ahead of Monday night's Premier League clash with West Ham, David Moyes has given a glowing verdict of Chelsea and Lampard.

The Blues have suffered a dip in form after losing back-to-back games against Everton and Wolves, but Moyes is still full of admiration for the west London side.

“Chelsea have been very good. It’s a new team, they’ve pulled a new team together, there’s a lot of new players and they’ve tried to get themselves right back to where they were, which is winning the Premier League and to cup finals,” the Irons boss said.

“I think Frank Lampard’s done a good job, they’ve got some exciting young footballers who are going to have long and prosperous careers. They’ve got a good team, Chelsea.”
