Declan Rice drops major hint about his future amid Man Utd transfer interest

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice appears to have all but confirmed he will remain with the Hammers despite interest from Manchester United this summer.

The England international is on the radar for United as they attempt to strengthen their midfield during the current transfer window.

United have brought down the average age in midfield area with the sale of the 31-year-old Marouane Fellaini and departure of the 29-year-old Herrera and could also phase out Nemanja Matic over the next year.

And Rice is one of the players on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's wishlist along with Sean Longstaff and Monaco's Youri Tielemans as he targets young talents with huge amounts of potential.

West Ham do not want to lose the 20-year-old and Rice seems to have dismissed suggestions of leaving the club with his latest social media post.

Rice was asked if he was keeping his number 41 shirt next season by a West Ham fan and he replied: "Had loads of people asking this.. I WILL be keeping 41 for this season."

The youngster discussed his future at West Ham last month and he insisted that he's happy with life at the London Stadium.

‘"Everything’s good," Rice explained.

"I know there’s speculation but during the season I signed a new five-year contract with West Ham, so my focus is fully on playing for West Ham.

"I have a great connection with the fans. The fans love me, I love them, and that’s the way it is at the moment. I’m not thinking about anything else."
